Ramiro Funes Mori will leave River to join Estudiantes de La Plata, after losing ground in the Núñez club. The transfer is agreed, but it depends on Estudiantes selling a player abroad, as the Argentine transfer market is closed, although international transfers will be active until March 12.
If it materializes, Funes Mori will become the seventh reinforcement for Juan Sebastián Verón's team, joining other players like Cristian Medina, Lucas Alario, and others. The center-back had little participation in his second spell at River, which led him to negotiate his exit.
With a contract valid until December 2026, Funes Mori's departure will not be on a free condition, so financial terms for his departure are being discussed. The player's decision to change teams comes after interest from Estudiantes' coach, Eduardo Domínguez.
Additionally, Estudiantes is waiting for investment from Foster Gillett, an American businessman in partnership with the club's management, which could facilitate Funes Mori's arrival.
